With dedicated girls' teams spanning from entry-level Auskick right through to Under 17 Youth competitions run through the Cannons, our club is proudly championing the growth of female Australian Rules football across Sydney’s Inner West.

What Your Footy Week Looks Like
Midweek Training: Our dedicated girls' squads train under the lights at Gipps Street Oval in Concord. Training sessions run once a week (typically on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening depending on age division), with final schedules released prior to round one.
Sunday Match Days: Girls' competitions are held predominantly on Sundays against neighbor clubs across the region. With home games hosted at Gipps Street Oval and away fixtures taking us around the metropolitan area, your family can look forward to an exciting mix of Sunday footy throughout the season.
Driving Excellence in Girls’ Footy
The Concord Giants are committed to building a supportive, high-energy environment where female athletes can build skills, push their limits, and belong. This is fostered through the Concord Giants program U5-U11 and then through the Canada Bay Cannons from U12+.
Targeted Skills & Squad Training: Our training environments allow players to hone fundamental kicking, marking, and tactical concepts at their own pace alongside supportive teammates.
Female Mentorship & Coaching: We actively recruit and foster experienced female leaders, coaches, and mentors—including players with senior and elite-level experience—to guide and inspire our teams throughout the year.
Clear Development Pathways: From early junior footy through to high-school age Youth competitions (Under 13 to Under 17+), we provide a clear, uninterrupted pathway to keep girls active, connected, and thriving in sport.
Dynamic Team Culture: Beyond physical development, our focus is on building self-belief, leadership habits, and strong friendships that extend far beyond match day.
Never Played Footy Before? You Belong Here!
No previous AFL experience required! Girls join the Concord Giants from all sporting backgrounds—some transition across from netball, basketball, or soccer, while others pick up an oval ball for the first time.
Our accredited coaching staff focus on step-by-step skill mastery, ensuring every player gains confidence, learns match strategy, and feels valued from her very first session.
