Matches

Wet Weather
AFL is a winter sport and that means that occasionally we train and play in the rain. Training and rain are cancelled only if grounds are closed, or conditions are considered unsafe.
On training days: The Council will advise us about ground closures sometime after 2pm. We will make announcements via the Teamstuff App via your managers and we will notify via Facebook and Twitter about any cancellations on training days.
On game days: We will notify you on Facebook and Twitter about ground closures as soon as we can. We will also make announcements via the Teamstuff App and via your managers. AFL Sydney Juniors operates a Wet Weather Check Website. Host Clubs update this information first on game days – so it is the quickest way to find out about ground closures.
It is important to note that individual coaches and teams cannot cancel games. If in doubt, please go to the game – even if you think it is too wet to play, there will be another team and a host of home game volunteers waiting for you!
Parental Supervision
At the Concord GIANTS Football Club it is expected parents/guardians will be present at training and games to supervise their own children. Children’s safety and wellbeing is a primary concern for the Club and our expectation is for all parents/guardians to support the supervision policy.
The Draw
Has been entered into Teamstuff but is also available directly from the official site. While your manager will do an excellent job of advising you about game times and locations, this draw is the official version. For competitive teams (U11 and above), it also provides results and the all-important ladder!
The Draw is also available as an App called ‘Game Day by Sports TG’. Once you have downloaded the App, you can add a team to your home page, using the ‘star’ in the top right hand corner. Search on ‘Australian Football – Concord GIANTS’ (or Canada Bay Cannons) and then search for your team (making sure you select the current year).
Social Media + Photo Sharing
We’d love to share your game day photos, news and match reports so we can all celebrate the achievements of our mighty GIANTS. Please contact Nat Mac and she can send you a photography cheat sheet, and links to a Dropbox folder to make it easy to share.
Uniform Care
Our guernseys are the pride and joy of our club and we love that our little GIANTS have the opportunity to wear them with pride during the footy season. If you can launder with car, our guernseys will stand the test of time and be able to be used for many seasons to come. We recommend a cold wash with like colours, and avoid the dryer.
How We Communicate
The Concord GIANTS have introduced a Club ‘Teamstuff’ App.
Our team communications and general Club reminders will be sent via the App.
Teamstuff can be viewed online on a computer web browser, but it also comes with an app (download via the App Store or Google Play). The app is free, or you can upgrade to a pro version (extra features but the free version is fine). The app will be the primary way your managers communicate with you so we encourage you to download it and explore.
When you receive your invite, log in and have a play – and check out all the cool resources available!
